HELLO PEOPLE!

YAY! I turned 16 today!
So happy.
Anw, It’s like so late now.
I was kept awake because everyone wanted to wish me a Happy Birthday.
So so so happy that I can watch NC 16 movies!
HAHA =x
But.. I.. May.. Not.. Be.. Able.. To.. Watch.. It.. In.. Cinemas.. As.. I.. Don’t.. Really.. Like.. To.. Go.. To.. Cinemas.. =/

Anway, I would still like to thank everyone, esp those that are close to me.

So my present from my family is:

YAY!

NVM. So late alr. Tomorrow, I’ll still have to be in top shape to go for lessons tomorrow.

HELLO PEOPLE

Woke up at 6.
Went to school as per normal, except today we skipped lessons to go for the SYF.
Practiced till 8:40 // We did 2 rounds
Breakfast till 9:20
Changed into costume till 10:10
Depart from school at around 10:45
Reached the Republic Poly at around 11:30?

Then we went to the tuning room for some tuning before going to perform.
Whatever it is, we should not have any regret whatsover.

After performance, we went for lunch break till 1:15 and we were back in the theater for the last 4 schools to perform.
Each school will perform for about 10 minutes
Which after that we had a break until 2:45, since the results were collated and then announced.

The emcee was super happy to announced that our school got bronze.
“AK-__ (School code in the SYF registration), ______________ (School Name), Bronze”
We couldn’t believe it that we even deserve bronze.
We are even worth more than that larh, I believe.
I mean, we practiced hard enough till we wanna vomit blood.
And what we got is just bronze?
Wait, I need my shock absorber..

So, we stayed later on for some “conference” with the judge.
Two of the judges are Indonesian so I understand him perfectly even before the translator went into action.
And i found out the “reason” of why we “deserved” bronze.
1. The Kulintangs are playing the melody parts. We are supposed to make melody with the Angklung
- Wait, I think it is a little bit wrong. Because in my opinion the Millenia Institute used xylophone, and very little Angklung. so where is the melody from the Angklung?
2. The angklungs’ cetok/staccato are regarded as a percussion interpretation
- Yes, they don’t accept such kind of playing.
3. We tilt our angklung and did not do crescendo properly
- You know what, to my surprise, when we shook our Angklung when tilted, it is regarded as a slur, while shaking the Angklung when it is straight, it become a legato.
- Besides that, I just knew that when you wanna do a crescendo, you have to hold the small tube while shaking the angklung, followed by releasing the small tube once you shook the Angklung loud enough to make the sound even louder.
4. Gold is only exclusive to some criteria
- You applied the “technique”
- You played something that is too traditional. Apparently, the judge only gave gold to the school that did the traditional song.

Okay, so let us see the panel of judges. They consist of 2 Indonesian Angklung Experts, followed by this woman, who said that she never played the Angklung before but she said she was in the performing arts — which is Band.

HELLO!? If you never ever played the Angklung before, how can you be the judge?!
And and and, BAND?! Then she should be a Band judge.
What lame SHIT. -.-
You won’t know how hard it is unless you played it before right?

Okay, I was super disappointed with the SYF results today.
That is because.
Firstly, I believe that our level of playing DOES NOT match the standard of a Bronze
Secondly, there is nothing wrong with our music. It does not meet the judges’ criteria because it is too contemporary and the panel of judge is too traditional.
Thirdly, I don’t skip class just to get a fucking bronze. I expected at least silver or gold.
To sum it up all, isn’t SYF supposed to be a benchmark?
Not a competition!!
I hope the judge can get the difference between the two

It was super crap can.
Oh how frustrated am I feeling now.
It really spoils my mood for the whole day.
Alot of tears were shed. And my tissue ran out at the wrong time D:
The girls got a little bit emotional.
And after this SYF, the seniors are going to step down, so our “farewell gift” to them is to play together for the last time.
Well, it was really nice, where everyone really enjoyed playing together.

So I was bitching about it over the phone in three-way conference with Josephine and Jezebel.
Well, turns out that the choir had something going on, which I am not really sure, so I won’t really elaborate on it to avoid misunderstanding.

Which I also remembered that we are supposed to go for the English remedial but the SYF was taking over. I hope that my English teacher doesn’t get too particular about it. Until then, I hope tomorrow will be a better day.

P.S. Sorry for not updating for such a long time because I didn’t get the time to do it and also my life is getting so busy and monotonous the whole time. So, I really apologized.

HELLO PEOPLE!!

Went to Broadrick Secondary School today for combined rehearsal for SYF with all the rest of the schools that Mr. Dzul teaches.

I was quite disappointed to the fact that my hands were trembling during the whole thing, so I screwed the first part of Labyrinth in the first trial.
But the second part was cool. I picked up enough courage to get comfortable with the audiences as well as the performer

Met Lydia halfway.. which was cool.
Met her friends too.

But I forgot all about Mei Chi!!
She was rushing back from her drumming lesson.
But then the whole Angklung group were rushing off.
I heard her calling me, but could not figure out who.

So sorry! D:
In the end she got caught by her Netball instructor and was made to go for netball.
WOAHH! I felt so guilty siahhs.
Rushed back to see me, but in the end she didn’t get to see me.
I had to make it to her somehow.

2.4 KM run today was awesome.
I hope I didn’t fail.
As usual, I jogged the whole way without stopping.

Today was WOW!
Tiring at the same time.
Had SYF practice from 8~12 straight.
I heard that the rental of the hall costs $800.
With $200/hr.
But with a break in the middle also lah.

We re-arranged ourselves to match the acoustic of the hall.
My kulintang’s at the back with Fathul on my right and Fuad on my left.
And I also had to do the glock solo! :O

Okay back from Republic Poly, I took some pictures.
Well, my hands were shaky.
Had to use the T9 function to SMS because of the intensive 4-hrs practice.
Can’t use the multi-tap function because my fingers were trembling.

Let’s just say today’s chemistry did not go well.
We were supposed to work in groups of 4.
And I could say that they did not make use of their brains.

Okay. The first attempt was alright.

After that it became like this

To my surprise, I could lose my temper in class.
Which is like.. After a long time.
And I dragged “someone” in, in the process of doing it.
I’m so seriously sorry to that person, because I was not targetting at him.

Working with you is a serious waste of time, and I did not even learn anything due to your stupid digressions.
And I really mean it.
I thought that you could be trusted and that is the reason why I joined your group.

Went to IKEA today.
I don’t know why I love furniture shops.
I’m not sure if its like very comfortable..
Or maybe because of my natural attraction to “wooden smell” that is usually used in furnitures.
BUT BUT BUT!
IKEA’s wooden smell is UNIQUE. Can’t find it anywhere else.
Not even V.Hive or Courts.

BLEHH. Why am I talking about my attraction to furniture smells? =x

BLEH. I’m late for school today.
Well, actually, I’m not late.
The school reporting time is reduced to 7.10a.m.
Because of some introduction to olympics by the Jamaican people.
But forgot and came at normal time..

So anyway, let’s not go further into that topic.
After then we had sports carnival.

WOW! This is the first time seeing a “milk truck” without any staffs attending to it. Damn funny siah. Everyone helped themselves and ignored on the signs that says “DO NOT REFILL ON YOUR OWN CUP”

WOW!
If I could find one word to describe Speech day, it will be: madness.
Lucky I lasted till the end.
During the performance, I hit a wrong note at the end of my solo– by one semitone higher.
How unfortunate, MY KULINTANG WAS SO NEAR THE CONDENSER!!
Arrgh! D:
Went home to watch the recording that was done by mom.
And it could be heard — so clearly.
How disappointing.
But overall, the crowd really likes it
So it wrapped up the whole event as we were the last to perform.

After that, headed for some refreshments in the Indoor Sports Hall.
LOL. Why hold it there on all places?
So once my teachers learnt that my mom came for the Speech Day, they quickly swarmed to my mom and gave feedback about me ._.|l|
But you know…
I’m a reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyy good boy, so no negative remarks *AHEM*!

Oh yeah. We also go to Parkway.
But, I’m seriously tired. I’ll stop for now.

Well, it did go off twice.
Some of them really did go down, but then after that they were told to stay in class.

Personally, for me, I still prefer the old one. It’s more colourful and has the sequins on them. The materials that the old costume is made of is actually thicker than the new one.
