HELLO PEOPLE!

WOW~
Seems like third week of school had become a little bit more.. hectic?
Everything is being rushed.
And the first day of school, there are a lot of admin stuffs to be done.

Due to the H1N1 situations, there are some students being placed under home-quarantine because they travelled to other countries.
Recess that lasts from 1020 to 1100 is changed to 1020 to 1040 for the Secondary 3 students.
and 1040 to 1100 is for the Secondary 4 students.
And we had to take our temperature twice a day …
Which made me remember what happened in 2003.

Anyway, I wanna go for that Drama Duri (Some Malay performance) held at Mountbatten Community Center from 1000 to 1300.
Surprisingly, only me is interested.
My Malay teacher had to drag some others to go as well..
Which is kind of…. D:

Okay, gotta go.

Okay. I’m superbly excited now..
Because…. I’VE KILLED MOST OF MY HOMEWORK!

YAY!
HAHAHA~

I did alot of newspaper cuttings for English with summary as well as the reflections and vocabulary words.

Just another 3 more cuttings and then I can chill for awhile before returning back to my normal life in school next Monday.

Okay, on another note, this morning, on Channel News Asia, latest news is Michael Jackson passed away.
And I was like… WHAT?!
Okay. Didn’t expect this to happen but..
Even though I don’t listen to his music, I feel that he had influenced alot of other people through his music since he’s the “King of Pop”, as most other people would call him.
I hope his family can cope with his loss.

The last thing that I want to happen is to not sleep on the last day of the holidays to finish up all my homework.

Back from Church.
Before church, went to Hui Ting’s house to finish the catapult assignment with Hui Ting and Bhalaji.

We decided that the metal spoon is not thick enough as the metal spoon flew when we tried it with an eraser.
So we’ll get McFlurry spoons from McDonalds.

Back to the dentist again…
And the good news is that..
My teeth is clean!
YAY!

LOL. I’m so bored.. LALALA~

The female dentist asked me to take out my toothbrush and I was like… O_O
[At the dentist's office]
Dentist: Did you bring your toothbrush with you today?
Me: Yeahh…..
Dentist: What brand are you using
Me: Erhh.. Systema? wait arhhs……. {takes out toothbrush}
Dentist: {examines my toothbrush} Oh… Systema is good. It is known for it’s softest bristles. {goes on talking about it}
Me: {interrupts} But then it doesn’t look like soft l0rhs.
Dentist: {pause for a while} When did you last change it?
Me: Yesterday.
Dentist: It is not yet softened because it is still new..
Me: Oh.. Okay… {chuckles}

HAHA~! LOL.
I “pwned” the dentist.
But the dentist was friendly that’s why.

HAHA.~
Today was fun.
Went out with Catechism friends to Vivocity for a movie and some shopping.

First thing I did when I arrived there was to fall flat on my face.. *unglam entrance* =/
I saw a flight of stairs leading to the main entrance and decided to run up 2 steps each time but I tripped on my jeans. D:

Some of them decided to soak their feet in the water and play before the movie starts.
I was MIA-ed with Amos and go to Daiso.
I needed knitting materials. But can’t find any D:

So watched Monsters VS Aliens in 3D at the cinema there.
The effect were great but they said it has no storyline.
I had a great time explaining how the 3D glasses worked. (Thanks to the Physics Enrichment Camp @ NUS)
And I broke my 5 years of not-going-to-the-cinema record! D:
Well. I don’t know when I’ll go for the next movie again.
I usually get dizzy when staring at big screens in the dark.

So after that we had lunch and then walked and window-shopped.
Gone to pet shops, candy shops.
Timothy and Samantha took lots of pictures..

And there was this shop that was selling long strip candies but their sign is just soooo wrong.

And we were like laughing at it.
Go to Facebook and see our group photos.
One of them was holding that “long thing” that they purchased from the store.

By 3p.m., most of them decided to go home as they said it’s too late.
Which surprised me greatly as I thought that the definition of late is after 8p.m.
And the group dwindled in number because most of them need to go off.

HELLO PEOPLE!

Okay. Second day of the camp.
In the morning, we did hands on experiments.
We had to move from one station to another.
And the campus was HUMONGOUS that I lost my sense of direction.
A lot of the experiments uses advanced tools and machines to record down the data.

By the afternoon, everyone was gathered again.
They held some Physics quiz.
And one of the question asked us about Cosmology.
My school was paired up with TKSS.
Our answer to that question was.. C … for … COSMOLOGY.
And amazingly, the answer turned out correct!
That… was…… tyco..
The quiz was really boring because it was complicated and alot of us didn’t know what was going on as our team was eliminated first and we had to watch the other team compete.

After that, we had prize presentation.
All we got was a “Certificate of Participation”.
Which was expected because we did not even prepared anything and don’t know what was going on.
And another thing.. They SPELLED MY NAME INCORRECTLY … again .. D:
Alot of certificates that I received were sent back for reprinting as they spelt my name wrongly. D: D: D:

Back from Physics Enrichment camp held at NUS.

Well, the first time I was there.. I was..

Stunned to see that their directories in the first floors are so… advanced.. that I can’t even understand a single thing that they mentioned.
I felt like I am like in another dimention. O_O

The first 4 hours from 0900 to 1300 was hell.
It was a continuous 4 hours lecture by 3 different “professors”?
1st lecture: Topics covered in the camp and some basic refreshments (for JC students)
2nd lecture: Matters — T_T
3rd lecture: Newtonian Cosmology — @_@
4th lecture: Nanotechnology —
And I don’t understand a single thing.
As I sat there, I was absorbing the information like a sponge.
But Nanotechnology workshop was the best as the lecturer was the most lively and entertaining.
And lots of JC students attended the camp.
Which is like.. O_O

There was this one time where one of the lecturers (who gave the lecture on the Newtonian Cosmology) said, “Oh, we can simply take the formula and derive it by using “Differentiation and Integration”.

And on hearing that, I was like.. WHAT THE BIG FAT WTH?!
We didn’t even learn “Differentiation and Integration” yet, how can we catch up?

After the lecture, we had hands on activity “The Cartesian Diver”

The challenge was to control the 2 divers (the pictures in Wikipedia shows only 1 diver) so that they will go through different regions of the bottle (A, B and C).
I represented my school and I got like 98%.

Okay nevermind.
I’m kind of tired now.
I hope that I can catch up more on hands on activity tomorrow.

HELLO PEOPLE!

I’m BACK! — officially from the church camp.
I feel great! And the camp was super fun.
So here goes.
THEME of the CAMP: MI FAMILIA (My Family)
WARNING — Long post ahead.

DAY 1 [5/6/09]
Left the house quite late.
Bought toothpaste at 7-Eleven @ $2.65.
Assembled at Father’s house by 1pm.
Then we had short prayer and praise-and-worship session until around 2.30pm before we bused down to Choice Retreat House.
Once we reached there, there was bag check, as usual, but in the car park (last year we did it at the air-conditioned canteen =/)
Some of them hid their hand phones in their guitars.. which is kinda creative but failed at doing so as they should have taped their phones to the guitar so that their phones don’t make a sound when the guitar is being shaken.=/
After that we were to group ourselves in groups of 4s to each room.
I’m grouped with Matthew (my brother), Matthew Li and Sean.
When I stepped into the room.. I was like..
O_O WOW!
There are beds, air-conditioner,
wall fan, and a SINK (.. to brush our teeth and wash our face and hands).
And we got our pillows, pillows cover and blankets!
So we had station games afterwards until before dinner, followed by more praise and worship sessions until bed time.

DAY 2 [6/6/09]
Woke up around 5am in the morning.
Got the toilet first because no one was up by that time.
Went back to sleep after I bathed.. Until about 7 am.
Had breakfast by 7.30am.
We have more talks conducted by our cathecists by 8am.
In the afternoon there is Confession session with the fathers.
After that in the night, we had mass with Msgr Eugene Vaz.
It was quite different atmosphere as we had it outdoors in the dark, but there are photography and the bright flash produced by the camera flashed SUPER BRIGHTLY at our faces. -ANNOYING- =I
After the mass, there is light refreshment.
After that its free-time..
Well.. up to until the next day.

DAY 3 [7/6/09]
I’m like so K.O. by Day 3
I didn’t sleep like until 6 a.m. in the morning.
Was writing lots and lots of affirmation letters to people and debating the whole night with other people.
Basically we didn’t do much activities except for clearing up and closing prayers.

CONCLUSION:
The camp was super fun. Many of us thought that the camp is too short. I think that they should like extend it by one more day. I got to know more friends from the Saturday class and we got to know each other better..
I think we’ll be seeing each other (the Saturday class people) in the next major event for eDYD 2009 in September, where all the Confirmation 3 people across all Catholic churches in the East of Singapore will gather.
